Inspired by the hundreds of letters written by my German grandfather Karl during the Second World War, this book project tells a timeless love story.

 

A story of love, fear, and hope. A story about moments of happiness: the flowers in the fields, the sunsets, the quiet magic of Christmas. A story about the inner compass, the choice to see light even when everything is covered by darkness.

 

The book weaves together original letters and photographs with AI-generated imagery, creating cinematic scenes. The result is a visual and emotional journey that merges reality, memory and imagination.
