love letters from the war

Inspired by the hundreds of letters written by my German grandfather Karl during the Second World War, this project tells a timeless love story.

 

This is a story about the choice to see light even when everything is covered by darkness; about the courage to hold on to love, dignity, and inner truth when everything around us falls apart.

 

Transformed into an exhibition, film and photo book, it weaves together original letters and photographs with AI-generated imagery, creating cinematic scenes. The result is a visual and emotional journey that merges reality and imagination.
